War Horse Tickets

I remember when War Horse first came to the stage twelve years ago. Eleven year old me read about it in ‘Pony’ Magazine and immediately wanted to go. Well, yesterday I finally got there. Brought back for a limited run at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, War Horse makes great use of the huge space. It is one of the most unique pieces of theatre I have ever seen. The horses are huge puppets manned by three people each and the effect is amazingly believable. 

The wind has certainly changed and we’re not sure if it’s because of the brisk autumn weather that has arrived or because Disney's Mary Poppins will be blowing into the West End. Not only is autumn in full swing now, but the lead up to Halloween is here! However, in London Theatre we’re a tad more excited for the big shows that are preparing, as we speak, for when they open this month. Sets are being built and actors are in rehearsals, and our excitement is building. Read below to find out what’s opening in the West End this month…

Featuring breathtaking puppetry from the Handspring Puppet Company that has been known to make even Queen Elizabeth II neigh with excitement, the beloved National Theatre production of War Horse is officially returning to London this autumn following a brief West End hiatus. As part of a stop on its new UK and International Tour, War Horse will play at the new Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre for a limited one-month run. Tickets to War Horse gallop on sale on Friday, 15 February 2019.

People often ask me where they should sit in a theatre. But the answer is governed by so many things, from budget, viewing angles, mobility, the theatre itself and of course personal preference, that there's no clear cut answer. What is the difference between stage circles and stalls? The Circle and Stalls are two different seating options in a theatre. While the stalls refer to the seats that are on the ground level of the theatre, seats in the Circle offer a slightly elevated view of the stage as they are situated on the floor above. Whether you choose to sit in the Stalls or the Circle is completely down to personal preference! Does it matter where you sit in a theatre? Where you sit in a theatre will likely affect your experience, but this depends on your preferences, budget and the structure of the theatre. In general, the Stalls allow for a more intimate and personal feel due to their close proximity to the stage. Whereas the Circle offers a broader perspective as you are slightly more elevated, allowing you to appreciate the full stage.

War Horse at the New London Theatre releases over 150,000 new tickets for sale as it extends booking period to 13 February 2016.

Over 300,000 new tickets are released for sale today (22 September 2014) for the National Theatre’s acclaimed production War Horse, now booking at the New London Theatre to 24 October 2015. 

2014 is the Year of the Horse, and Joey, the life-size puppet-horse and star of the National Theatre’s production of War Horse, is making a special on-stage appearance at the Chinese New Year celebrations in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 2 February.  The appearance will be part of the day’s finale just before 6pm.

On Monday 27 January 2014 the National Theatre’s internationally acclaimed award-winning stage production of War Horse will release over 130,000 new tickets for sale for the West End production taking booking at the New London Theatre to 14 February 2015.
