Newbury, 1997. Sal is attempting to cook dinner for the family. She and husband David have pulled off a coup and gathered their brood back home for the weekend. Eldest son Carl is bringing his new girlfriend to meet everyone for the first time; middle daughter Polly is back from Cambridge University for the occasion; and youngest Tom will hopefully make it out of detention in time for dinner.

Sal and David would rather feed their kids with leftist ideals and welfarism than fancy cuisine. When you’ve named each of your offspring after your socialist heroes, you’ve given them a lot to live up to…

Please note on 17 July there will be a post-show talk: Writer Jack Thorne in conversation with Royal Court Young Agitators. This event will be free to patrons with a ticket for that evening's performance.

There will be captioned performances Wed 10, 17 , 24, 31 Jul & 7 Aug at 7.30pm, an audio-described performance on Sat 3 Aug at 2.30pm with a touch tour at 1pm, and a relaxed environment performance on Sat 27 Jul at 2.30pm.

School’s out and no doubt you’ve been enjoying the summer which has finally reared its head. The days are longer, and the sun has been treating us to its presence but still, show business is show business, and sadly some theatres will be saying goodbye to beloved productions. It’s hard to believe that after 3 years we’ll be saying goodbye to Disney’s Aladdin; which is amongst the closing West End shows this month. The Royal Court Theatre officially announces today the West End cast for the end of history..., a play written by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany. The upcoming London theatre production opens at the Royal Court Theatre in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs on Thursday, 27 June 2019.  the end of history... tickets are on sale now.
